Idaho Trip

14 hours of driving and a dead battery later, we arrived in Idaho to spend some time with Nana, Papa, Hannah and Buddy. Macy did well in the car. All we can say is, Thank goodness for portable DVD players (early Christmas gift from Grandma & Grandpa)! We had a wonderful time. Aaron was able to relax and spend some time fishing and shooting. Macy loves being outdoors and looking at all the nature. Being at the river was the very first time Macy felt sand. She was a little unsure at first but was crawling around in it and shoving handfuls in her mouth soon enough!

Fun in the Sun

Macy had a great time playing in the baby pool at the Lyday's. She was crawling in circles and then discovered that she could lean out the edge and pick grass to eat. Yuck!

Shopping Trip

Macy has been walking along the couch while holding on for a little less than a month now. She cruises along pretty quickly and can even climb over obstacles even with only one hand holding on. Last night, she started walking while pushing her shopping cart. Luckily, the camera was nearby to catch it on tape!

9 Months Old!

17lbs 6.1oz
28 1/2" long

Macy goes camping

Macy's first camping trip was to Bear River Reservoir to watch Aaron get his rescue diver certification. We definately had to bring more stuff and a bigger tent but she had a great time. She loved being outdoors with so much to see. And she loved all the attention she got from the rest of the dive group.

Apples & Blueberries

Apparently Macy REALLY likes blueberries. So much so that she couldn't be bothered to wait for Daddy to feed her and had to "help" out by grabbing the spoon and shoving it in her mouth.

Crawling is so yesterday

After only a couple of weeks crawling, Macy has it mastered and has moved on to the next stage... pulling herself up to standing.

Today, I turned around to see her standing up while holding onto the gate. Soon after, she was over to the barstool and anything and everything else. I guess this is when the bumps and bruises begin!

And she's off...

Macy started crawling on our 2nd wedding anniversary - what a great gift for her Mommy & Daddy! She's getting better and better each day but I don't think she always remembers that she knows how to crawl. She'll crawl / roll around just fine when she's playing. However, once she is done playing or is just cranky, it's as if she forgets that she knows how to get around and just wants you to come get her rather than crawl over to us. We are having a great time watching her play and learn how to get around. I'm sure the joy will fade for me once she really get's the hang of it and I'm chasing her around the house! But for now, we are just enjoying each new stage and accomplishment.

Yum!

Macy started solid foods at 6 months old. We started with rice cereal and waited the 5 days (to ensure no allergic reaction) and then gave her sweet potatoe followed by avocado. She loves both the sweet potatoe and avocado but seems to enjoy the avocado more. Since then she's had pears, peas (not her favorite), mango, apples, and the latest as of this morning: peaches.
She is getting pretty close to crawling. Right now she is able to get on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. Looks like Daddy will be spending his next day off baby-proofing the kitchen & bathroom cabinets!

Macy cracks up at squirting rubber ducky

Aaron decided last minute to come in and watch me give Macy a bath. He grabbed one of her rubber duckies to put in her tub. It wouldn't float upright so Aaron tried to fill it partially with water. He didn't realize that there was a hole in the ducks mouth and when he sqeezed it, it squirted Macy in the face. She started laughing hysterically. This was the first time Macy laughed without us trying to make her laugh. As you can hear, Aaron and I thought it was pretty funny too!

I love the pacifier!

We've hit another milestone: Macy has finally taken a bottle and pacifier. As many of you know, Macy has refused to take a bottle for the past couple of months and never really took to a pacifier. A few days ago, I decided to try giving her a pacifier since she had recently discovered her hands and was constantly sucking on them. To my amazement, she LOVED it! So after realizing that, I decided to give her a bottle and again, she took it without a fight. I was so overjoyed that I had to hold myself back from running into the bedroom to wake up Aaron who had worked the night before to share the great news.

Since then, she has been much happier in her car seat as well. Yesterday we had a long day out driving around on different errands/appointments and she had the pacifier the entire time she was in her car seat and she didnt scream at all!

I have also been sleeping better the past few nights as Macy only woke up once last night and as soon as I gave her the pacifier, she was back to sleep for several more hours. In fact, I woke up before she did and was able to get coffee, do some bills, feed the dogs and relax a bit until she finally woke up! I never thought I would be so excited to do bills in my entire life!

One cool chic!

This is how Macy prefers to spend her time.... strapped to me and walking around anywhere and everywhere! She loves taking walks in her baby bjorn (Thank you to Aunt Stacy and Uncle Todd). The sunglass are her's (Thank you Nana & Papa), although she still has some room to grow into them! The past few days have been too cold and rainy for a walk, but we are hoping the weather clears up soon!
